Our (crude dumb terminal) mail reader displays the messages in their 'as<BR>
transmitted' form. To read a base64 'attachment' we need to decode explicitly<BR>
and then read the result - which may or may not be plain text!<BR>
<BR>
I am not sure why Andrew should think his "phone" does the encoding !!!<BR>
