I know it isn't the easiest thing to do but would it be fun to add this as a feature on the Newbie Install Day for the more experienced users / speakers not only to help the newbies to install their systems but also an opportunity to share their skills and knowledge in demostrating how to build your own distro. I think it would inspire and encourage the newbies to learn more about different aspects of linux and what it can build from it.
