Can you receive email? Can you enter a web address into the Firefox<br>
location bar, hit enter and get the page displayed? Either will show<br>
whether you have a working connection to the 'net.<br>

In my experience, WICD is very reliable, and shouldn't tell fibs!<br>

I don't think I have a working connection to the net as I cannot receive email nor able to get the page displayed after entering an address in Firefox.<br>
<br>
In the wicd , my connection is still shown at 80% wpa in the box. I have noticed the connection % shown at the bottom frame is different to the one displayed in the box.<br>
