[HLUG] upgrade will remove useful packages

I will give it a try but it will be slow by modem, with such a lot being
changed. 
I gather that funds have been found to finance broadband installation in
rural parts of Herefordshire and it will come between the end of January
and the end of July 06 to the small local exchanges.
