Hi!
Thanks for all your suggestions.
I probably wasn't just thinking about accessability for Gnucash, I would not
rule out any alternatives as regards keeping financial records, with me not
using Linux with speech at the moment apart from Oralux which is quite
limited because it is a live CD based on Gnoppics and uses mostly Emacs
which is verry difficult for a Linux newby even for someone used to shortcut
keys, I am not likely to know lots of applications that are available in
Linux whether they are usable by the Blind or not.
I presume that Gnucash is a bit like MS Money. I know some people use
Spreadsheets for financial records but I have never got figures to quite add
up when using say Excel but then Spreadsheets was never really my thing at
College.
I wasn't been pessamistic as regards work, I am supposed to be doing some
voluntary work when the hospital gets back to me and if we are talking about
time, the fact I am not working at the moment does have its advantage as
regards putting efort into making more applications under Linux and a wider
range of them area wise ie accounting, Internet etc more accessable to the
Blind. as you said yourself Ben a lot of work is being done on accessability
by people who don't always have the time which could be invested to help
move things along in application accessability hence the lack of Linux
accessability to the Blind so apart from my lack of being able to sit down
and write a program, the time I have available while not being tied down to
a number of hours in a job should in theory be an advantage rather than a
hinderence rather than start something, go to work half way through what I
am hoping to achieve and then not finish it because I am too busy or have
lost track of what I am doing and end up getting sidetracked which is
sometimes what I have found with potential relationships.

Just a note that I belive that Ubuntu 5.10 comes with Gnopernicus, and
though it is possible that you already had in mind choosing this distro, I
would expect this factor to sway you to Ubuntu if there were any doubts,

Ben
