got some good news for ben and anyone else who has helped me get
up and running with ubuntu.
hardy now works with speech and audio at the same time.
it was suggested on the orca list i change my sound preferences
in gnome to pulsesyc in the sound devices tab and this works on
my laptop.
however it doesn't appear to work on my e-machine as i get an
error message about unsupported sound device or something like
that and alsa doesn't appear to be able to support both orca with
espeak synthesiser and audio so although my laptop doesn't have
as much memory as my desktop, sound support seems to be better
although i am having problems copying a dvd in ubuntu as i was
hoping to copy some horror movies for my girlfriend or rather the
person i am hoping to have a relationship with who ben has spoken
to.
