The thinking was If it was going in a firewall then it would need to be in a small , quite box as the router is currently behind the sofa in my living room.<br>I might also be looking at one for work, in which case is would need to go in a cheap rack mount chassis and so a bunch of pci cards is pretty much out of the question in both cases - although I can get away with two cards in the home system.

Does it have to be separate network cards? I know you can get a single ethernet card with 4 ports on it for about a hundred quid. If it has to be four separate cards then all you can do is as previously stated, unless you have 4 free PCI slots and a bunch of realteks ;)
