after another evening spent buggering about (got myth 0.19 from dapper repoitories but needed to compile the plugins) i've come to the same conclusion. Plan B is now Xubuntu, Amarok, Kaffeine, Fspot and skype. It's not as elegent, the remote dosen't work and you can't shedule recordings - but it works
