you can also try;<br><br>sudo /etc/init.d/gdm stop<br>sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg<br><br>then walk through the wizard and final do <br><br>sudo /etc/init.d/gdm start<br><br><br>once your back into a graphical desktop check out the restricted driver manager in the system> administration menu and if you have an nvidia or ati card then consider the follwoing link;
