Hi Mike

Use your favorite package management tool, thats urpmi in mandrake isn't it? to add the following rpms.
libqt4-32bit
libqt4-qt3support-32bit
libqt4-sql-32bit
libqt4-x11-32bit

Some may already be there, the two i was missing were libqt4-32bit and libqt4-x11-32bit. These rpms should provide the shared objects (.so files) that Skype reports as missing. By using the inbuilt package manager it "should" sort out where they need to be etc.....
Hello Rob,

Thanks for that advice - it would probably help a lot if you could just check exactly what you did. I'm right at the edge of my competence here. I can move libraries in 'root' and make symlinks. I also have an older 32-bit machine running an older version of Mandriva so I probably have the right libraries available for copying across.

I just need to be advised into exactly which directory they should go.

It would help, thanks a lot.
Hi Mike

I got it going by installing the 32bit QT Libraries: Skype is a 32-bit app so you need the 32-bit versions of those packages installed as well. They go into a different directory, so they can coexist with the 64-bit libraries.

I did it on a machine for my mum so i cant check the exact packakes reguired but libqt4-32 and one other are needed (something along the lines of lib***-devel? maybe). She should be at home tomorrow if you would like me to have a look see on her machine.
Hope this helps.the day
