Brother Philippe,
I can concur with the recommendation to use a 3.5G Router, as they are available for about £70, and give you a standard wired network, as well as wifi connectivity, which is a much less tricky obstacle course, being more long-legged. Using a ready built piece of hardware preconfigured for 3G use, saves a lot of grief, IMHO [Other advantages are print or file server capability]
I also use a Huawei E220 [dongle] whilst travelling, my previous solution, which will again work with a vast array of hardware & OS's without too much difficulty to set it up. Linux has come a long way in coping with 3G/wifi, and such connectivity, though I do not use OpenSuse, but PuppyLinux, which can handle quite an array of wifi & 3G dongles
Good Luck.
Aitch :)
------------------------------------

> Date: Tue, 12 May 2009 15:46:51 +0100
> From: philippe.y@franciscans.ac.uk
> To: kent@mailman.lug.org.uk
> Subject: [Klug-general] Dongle
>
> Our house has recently switched from a fixed line to a wireless internet
> connection.
