I'm intrigued that nobody has mentioned Wikipedia who are at present doing a big (and very successful) drive. But then perhaps their success is part of why we shouldn't worry too much to donate as they are doing well.<div>

For example projects like Firefox already have some commercial financial backing.</div><div><br></div><div>I am in favor of the gimp, a shining example of oss software that I have used and relied upon many times.</div>
