How long ago with this troublesome ATI card? <div><br></div><div>This appears to be a more recent change that might not have been in action (or it might have been more infant) when you tried the card. </div><div><br></div>
<div>Nvidia has been (for me) the tried and tested way with good results for years. The key thing being I still thought that if you wanted 3D performance under Linux then Nvidia was the only (or closest to it) choice for performance 3D (Games etc...). According to the article since AMD got involved with ATI Linux support is growing quickly.<br>

Yes, this IS nice to see - and I do hope 1 day Nvidia will go FOSS, but the last ATI video card caused me no end of troubles with games and movies, so I went with...<br>
