I think you are right, I remember reading some time ago when wanting to have more than the 80x40 that it was a compile option (at which point I gave up/felt like the cost of time/effort was greater than the benefit). It might have been changed more recently (which I assumed from the other posts here) but since you say this, it does sound like the case that I found previously.<br>

Well I did that. And it had an no effect. I also tried Toms stty cols 80<br>
rows 40, which did work kinda. In so far as I ended up with a 80x40<br>
terminal in the top left corner of the screen with the same font size,<br>
meaning that it wasted alot of screen space...<br>

I wonder if rebooting would have the desired effect, but I refuse to<br>
beleive that linux has got so out of hand that the only way to fix a<br>
problem is to reboot.<br>
