You have probably discovered this already but for anyone else finding the default Mac-ified Unity interface annoying, when you enter username and password down the bottom of the screen you can choose "Ubuntu classic" interface which will bring up a more familiar interface.<br>

I do like Unity's runapp button though (I found its the only one I used!) where you can type in part of an apps name or function and the icons reflect.. if only this feature were available in gnome.<br></blockquote><div>
<br></div><div>Gnome-Do is a bit like that <a href="http://do.davebsd.com/">http://do.davebsd.com/</a></div><div><a href="http://do.davebsd.com/"></a>I use it all the time. Simple Windows Key + Space and up it pops, start typing and it finds the app, press enter and it's loading.</div>
