after the hassle we had on wednesday trying to find cards that worked in the 
kitchen, I've had a look for info on linux ethercard drivers. The best site 
seems to be www.scyld.com, which has useful stuff like details of how 
to configure various cards, and a diagnostic program for ne2000 clones which 
you can use to do things like write the irq and io address into the card's 
eeprom. I'm going to try tomorrow to see if I can get some of the realtek 
cards working with the other machines we haven't set up yet.
