Hi joost thanks for introducing yourself, its great to get new members also
feel free to introduce any other people who may want to join from the
university :) we keep meaning to get some posters put around on the boards
at the uni but dont really know who to ask!!! How did you find us on google
or on the LUG site?...

Ill introduce myself!
Im wayne and try my hardest to run the LUG and the lug website! as well as
run lancaster computers which fixes computers for corporates and domestic
although lately im full on doing websites!! so if you need any help or want
to get involved in any events with the lug let me know we can get it
sorted!!!

We should meet on the first wednesday on the first wednesday of every month
but sometimes move it onto the second wednesday of the month. This month
the meeting will be the second wednesday of the month and so will january -
this month we moved it to fit in with the brit so I could get us some food
served for free for the members but trying to get a list of people who will
attend is like pulling teeth!!! ho ho ho!! and january I thought its better
to be the second week let everyone settle after xmas plus ive got an event
that night so I wouldnt be able to make the 1st week. after that it will be
the back to the 1st week if everyone can make them dates ok. We are usually
at the brit from 8 till late so you might be able to pop in after for a
chat if your near! also we sometimes do a demo night which sometimes is a
different night from wednesday.

This months meeting will just be a general xmas linux celebration and in
the new year we need to start looking at at least one demo a month of some
sort!! I was thinking of some demos on different disto's to get us started
- lets get some input on this ...
i think gareth mentioned doing gentoo install as he calls himself the
gentoo master!! ....

If you can make it either before of after your pool meeting next week let
us know we can save you some food :)

all the best

Wayne :)
