Fair play to you ken - ive always had good results from my debian boxes
I have to say id say they were a lot more solid than other boxes id setup.
I suppose once you have hacked a few config files you get used to it
So once you have it setup it should just run for you.
I use the network install which builds the base system and I just build on
top of that
If you run like that you will get stable versions of software, you can
change it and run unstable which I have done and its been solid but if you
stick with stock setup you should get stable versions of gnome and kde

hope it all goes good ken

regards
wayne
