Hi everyone

My name is Les Pounder and I am one of the members of Blackpool LUG. I am also one of the organisers of UCubed (http://ucubed.info) and I write the community page for Linux Format magazine.

I'd be really interested in taking this project on, but I am conscious that this was offered to Lancaster LUG members first, so I, like Andy will happily step down if someone from Lancaster LUG wishes to do this.

Thanks
Les

On Tue, Jun 21, 2011 at 4:40 PM, andy baxter <andy@earthsong.free-online.co.uk> wrote:
hi llugers

a friend in kendal is wanting a workshop on linux (try out a liveCD, install
it, play with it etc) sometime in autumn. Unfortunately i won't be able to do
it so was wondering whether this could go out on the LLUG list to see if
anyone else might be up for it.

Details below, if you're up for it please contact Sonny direct

cheers
Just a quick ask: we're looking at running a day (11am till 4 pm with 1
hr
lunch) course on Linux as one of our Skills for Sustainable Living
courses. Would you be up for running one? The idea would be that peeps
learn linux - what software to use, common problems, where to get it, how
to install, etc. We'd pay you £125 and charge £45 per person. It would
take place in Staveley. We reckon there'd be demand for it, but might be
wrong. Peeps would need to bring their own laptops and could start the
session by maybe installing Linux and then going thru with them how to
use
it.

Max 6 peeps on the course.
