Hi Andy :)

I think I would opt for using rsync and a @weekly crontab entry. I’d
probably put the rsync commands in a shell script and call that via
cron, as opposed to calling the rsync command directly.

Can you tell us more about your Debian install? Is it headless, or is
it running a desktop environment? If it’s the latter, I’m sure there
are some nice GUI solutions available these days.
