I use a Sony Ericsson C905 with Ubuntu Jaunty without any problems, it has an 8 megapixel camera with macro mode and autofocus (which is what you're after). I rate it highly, both as a photographer and technology geek.
First hello everybody, long time no see.

I have a Samsung SGH-J800 mobile phone, with camera, it has bluetooth so
I can send pictures to my Ubunto PC.

I want a new mobile phone, and obviously it must be Linux compatible.
It would be nice if email worked, my current phone always says "network
unreachable"

But it must have a very high quality camera that will do close up shots.
I think this might be called "compact mode", and it represented by a
little flower on the screen.

I need to take close up shots of coins, that I want to sell on Ebay,
Any recommendations people?
Hi Chris,

Oddly I've just this moment finished setting up a Nokia 3100C on Jaunty.
Not recommending the phone at all, just thought I'd mention it in
passing.

Don't know what your budget is (plus a load of other stuff), so this
looks like a useful place to start:

http://www.linuxdevices.com/articles/AT9423084269.html

Certainly there are numerous 3 and 5 megapixel cameras mentioned.

Hope it helps.
Hello,

I have a samsung g600, which I have used in the past for ebay as well. It
features a 5 mega pixel camera (>6 mega pixel is bad), macro mode (good for
close up shots) and an extremely high resolution. The images dont appear
that great on screen, but they look really good on a computer. I use the
internet on it alot, but it isnt 3g :( I am due to change it soon because of
this. I would definetley recommend the phone and the cybershot phones as
well.

Sorry for bad english.
Thank all all that information, I have made a load of notes and think I
will visit that phone shop on Scunthorpe precinct.

The Gainsborough shop in Marshall's Yard is poor, the staff there have
no technical knowledga about the phones that they sell.

If no success in a shop, will just have to buy one on the internet
