Fancy juggling bigger balls? What's on offer: A role with many hats, with responsibilities covering: - prototyping of cluster technologies, such as: distributed filesystems, installation scripts, monitoring  and failover/failback strategies.

<br>- sourcing of building and installing server clusters<br>- performance analysis<br>- data-centre selection, installation and maintenance<br>- and some general-purpose system administration in our linux/OS X-heavy office environment

<br><br>What we're looking for:<br>3+ years of Unix system and network administration<br>1+ years software development in Java/C/C++<br>Experience of multiple flavours of Linux<br>Experience of web server (Apache, Tomcat etc) and networking technologies (Routers, Firewalls, etc)

Good university degree in Computer Science or Engineering Ideally we would like to find a self-confessed geek with a misspent youth tinkering on Linux, patching kernels, optimising networks and contributing to open-source projects. At work, they might gain perverse satisfaction watching the logs of a well-tuned server scroll by. At home, they will have several DIY-built PCs with parts for as many again floating around in various states of assembly.
