[Liverpool] Saying Hello

Hi Guys,

Just found the group and decided to join the mailing list.  Thought I'd
do the polite thing and introduce myself!

I'm a 24 year old guy living in Waterloo, Liverpool.  I'm a relative
newcomer to Linux having only started early this year.  I actually tried
 to install Linux some years ago with a RedHat CD that came with a
computer mag but several hours and bucketloads of tears later I gave up.

Was inspired to learn more about the FOSS movement after being so blown
away by the quality of some Windows software like Firefox and Open
Office.  I figured if the windows software was that good I should
experiment with the entire OS.  My first try was Ubuntu and I fell
instantly and deeply in love.  The installation process was nothing like
my memories of RH which was definitely a plus.

I've since experimented with other distros (Fedora, openSUSE, Dream) but
I find that as a beginner, the wealth of information available on Ubuntu
is second to none, so I'm happy with Hardy for now :)

Anyhow - like I said this is just a message to say hi and I look forward
to finding out more about my local linux group.
