Interesting for those who want a dongle and have a existing G1 or
mobile data contract. I just ordered one in for Jo (to stop her
leeching our Three one).

Ok, so it's not entirely Free, you have to pay £4.95 for postage and
packing, but apart from that it's free.

The website is http://www.3dongle4free.co.uk/ and the dongle is locked
to the 3 service, however it's easily crackable so it can be used on
any provider with any SIM.

Basically you just pay for the postage and packing and they send you
the 3G USB Dongle and a PAYG SIM card, don't bother with the SIM, just
run the firmware update and you have a nice fresh shiny dongle you can
use with any SIM you want.

The firmware update is here and needs to be run under Windows XP,
instructions included: http://rapidshare.com/files/235523732/ZTE2.rar

The dongle itself is a ZTE MF627 and there are drivers for Mac OSX,
Linux and even some OS called "Windows" which I believe some people
are still using?

Postage took 2 days, cracking takes about 20 minutes (simple process),
all looks fine to me...

ttfn,
John
