I agree with you, but can they knight someone who is dead?

Does anyone think that rather than being sorry for the treatment of Alan
Turing, the government should knight him?
 
He is to Computer Science what Newton is to Physics; he gave us the
mathematics with which we could understand programs. We shouldn't just be
sorry, we should recognise him for what he was: one of the greatest
scientists of all time!
 
I'm putting a letter together that is addressed to the Prime Minister asking
Turing to be knighted. Who'd be willing to counter-sign it?
