[Liverpool] Fwd: OpenOffice.org Community announces The Document Foundation

As long the 'committee' doesn't take forever to reach decisions - I'm 
hopeful that this move will mean great things for the artist previously 
called OpenOffice.org. Although going in the right direction, they did 
seem to be moving rather slow over the years - and I wouldn't be 
surprised if it wasn't at least in great part because of the 
'shepherding' from Sun's direction.

Then again, I could be wrong :-)

Now where is a fork of the Thunderbird, Firefox and Lightning projects 
away from the Mozilla foundation - with it's army of PR obsessed 
executives, and its ceaseless branching into headline grabbing projects 
such as it's latest attempt to reduce 0.000001 ns from execution of some 
elaborate JavaScript test suite, or it's talk of turning the framework 
into a web gaming platform. All great stuff, but they seem to get 
distracted quite a lot from the purpose of making and improving the 
actual software.
