And before I forget, a quick heads up for anybody in need of a quick and
dirty Android phone. For £50 (from Argos), you get wifi, bluetooth and
GPS, Google maps and Android market. It can also be network unlocked in
a tick for free on the Internet - thus could be used with local sim
cards abroad when on holiday. The screen is resistive and low resolution
- but just about usable. It also looks a lot better and less plasticky
then T-Mobile Pulse Mini. As disposable/holiday Android phones go, I
would say it's not bad.

The easiest way to root it is with Universal Androot app.

I wouldn't recommend it for anything fancier though. I've spent a day
and a half trying to get openvpn to work on it. Not really the fault of
the phone itself. After defeating several obstacles, I've stopped when
confronted with a page full of instructions on how to recompile kernel
modules to fit the particular kernel on this phone (or any phone). This
is needed in order to end up with a usable tun.ko kernel module.
