my fiancée's EeePC 900HA is a decent form-factor, and was pretty damn cheap. only trouble with the 900 is the keyboard and trackpad (both way too small).

luckily it didn't take her too long to adjust to the small keyboard size

The whole netbook thing is messed up now. The whole point of them was
that they were small, lightweight and cheap, but now the manufacturers
are adding size, weight, features and price, turning them into small
laptops and losing their unique features.
I too had a 12" Mac, an iBook, but I think I prefer the form factor of
this Eee PC 900,but there doesn't seem to be much in the way of small
netbooks with SSD storage now.
