First of all, thank you for everyone attending. We had a near record breaking<br>
attendance again, hopefully we can break it with next month's talk.<br>
<br>
I'd like to thank Simon for his interesting talk, I'm sure we'll be interested<br>
to hear how his project pans out in his future talks. I'd also like to thank<br>
everyone for sitting through my talk and taking great amusement at Omegle[1].<br></blockquote><div><br></div><div>I enjoyed both talks and it was a really good night. You're a much better public speaker than you give yourself credit for Andy, I thought you did well, Simon too!</div>
<div> </div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0 0 0 .8ex;border-left:1px #ccc solid;padding-left:1ex;">Talk slides should be up by the end of the day, and recordings will be sometime<br>
soon. Some minor editing work may be needed *cough* but i'll talk to Dan and see<br>
if we can get them out sometime this week.<br></blockquote><div><br></div><div>I'll have a look at the recordings tonight and see what I can do. They probably need minor editing and some processing to make the audio sound as good as possible, but it won't be a massive job. (he says optimistically)</div>
<div> </div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0 0 0 .8ex;border-left:1px #ccc solid;padding-left:1ex;">Next month we have a talk from Tom, he'll be giving his RAID/LVM talk and then<br>
sometime in the future his ZFS/Btrfs talk.<br></blockquote><div><br></div><div>Should be a good talk, looking forward to that one. </div><div> </div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0 0 0 .8ex;border-left:1px #ccc solid;padding-left:1ex;">
In the meantime talk of the Christmas party popped up. We're looking at a<br>
weekend in December, any suggestions of venues that can serve decent food and<br>
provide us with lots of beer would be welcome.</blockquote><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0.8ex; border-left-width: 1px; border-left-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-left-style: solid; padding-left: 1ex; ">

<div> </div><div>I forgot to talk to you about the Christmas/5th Birthday bash last night. I was talking to some of the folks in Manchester and they're interested in coming over for the event, if it's on a weekend. Apparently traveling on a week night is a problem for them. I reckon we should have a meal somewhere and then some drinks afterwards. A Saturday night would be perfect. The Everyman Bistro is good for food and drink, it's good value, it's open quite late (2am I think) and it's very comfortable. I think you can even book an area with some reserved tables for a party if you want. I know some people who've done that and I can investigate if you want? That would be my suggestion at the moment but others might have better ideas :)</div>
<div><br></div><div>I'll let you know about the recordings later when I have them uploaded somewhere, see ya</div><div><br></div><div>Dan</div><div><br></div></div>
