Hi all

Sorry I couldn't make the last meeting, I am undergoing some training at the
moment and had to do some prep work (the weather was lousy as well), I will
try to get to as many as I can this year, promise.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on getting the sound working
on Mint 8? I have installed all the alsa and pulse audio stuff, I have
downlownloaded the correct drivers (Ensoniq 1371 old sound blaster) compiled
and installed these, various commands show that my hardware is being
recognised, but I can't for the life of me get any bloody sound on it. I
have had Ubuntu on it in the 9.04 in the past and had no problems. I have
searched the Internet and have found loads of tips, tricks and commands,
none seem to work. I have also disabled the onboard sound in the bios.

Any help or useful links appreciated.

Thanks

ps. Speakers are plugged in, turned on and jack in the back of the
soundcard, before you ask.
