<div><br></div>Ok, got you, Andrew!<div><br></div><div><div>My phone is Samsung Galaxy Mini. Does anyone else got any Android phones from Three? I don't think they're SIM "locked". Don't know where this assumption of mine is coming from though.</div>
<div>I will certainly get a custom ROM/Kernel on this one later, simply don't have time to at the moment (and don't have a different SIM card to check it with). </div><div><br></div><div>.v</div><div><br><div class="gmail_quote">

SIM Unlocking is most definitely different from 'rooting' or unlocking the bootloader.<div><br></div><div>Depending on what phone you have, you may either have to pay someone to do it (usually around £10 from any of those telephone kiosk shops you see around) or sometimes you can even do it yourself for free. It does entirely depend on the phone though.<br>

Hello, community!<div><br></div><div>I have just bought a phone (Linux phone, of course) from Three and don't have time to root it during the next couple of days before I'm going for a holiday to Europe.</div><div>
I wonder - is it necessary for a phone to be rooted prior to using a sim card from a different carrier (in a different country)?</div><div>Is the procedure of "unlocking' a different one from rooting or is it the same thing?<br clear="all">
