Sounds good to me. Can you make it along on Wednesday, or perhaps to the gig at the weekend? Happy to help out with sound bites or anything else. We can talk music and Linux.

If you want to contact me off the list about anything the address is dan@danlynch.org
Hi Dan,

Dokuwiki definitely seems a lot simpler than mediawiki. My inbox is
no longer receiving over a hundred emails from the mediawiki mailing
lists either.

In regard to music, I'm in the last few weeks of my Ph.D, writing up
my doctorate about the notion and experience of musical opportunity
in the city from the perspective of entrepreneurship. I work for
Probe Plus records and Post Music (record labels), and am member of
a.P.A.t.T., as part of my research. I would recommend a.P.A.t.T. for
Rathole Radio, if you don't know them already. Pretty fun, new album
out. I'll have a look at rathole...

It might be good to talk about your experiences as a band member
over the years (as well as all the linux stuff, and I might have a
look at drupal too....). I'm an ethnographer so talking about music,
going to gigs is all part of my research ;)

Regards,

Daniel.

Glad DokuWiki is working for you. I think it's a better choice
than MediaWiki. If you need anything let me know.
On the music wiki front. I run a music podcast called Rathole
Radio which is based in Liverpool and I've been a member of
the music scene here for about 15 years, playing in various bands.
If I can help with contacts or information just ask. I'm always on
the look of for new music for the show.

Good luck!
Had a look at dokuwiki last night and managed to
upload it to a webspace. It's all working
surprisingly. It's still in its infancy but the idea
is to create a wiki for Liverpool musicians and new
music...

Back to Daniel's original question. Have you
decided you definitely want MediWiki? Is there a
specific reason for it? You might have some
special requirements I don't know about.

I would suggest having a look at DokuWiki and if that
satisfies your needs going with that instead. It's
a lot easier to set up and manage than MediaWiki
in my experience. Still written in PHP, easy to
theme and also quick to install.

If you want help with MediaWiki or anything
else then let me know. If I'm free I'll help out
with the music project. Sounds interesting. Feel
free to ping me.
