Hi Folks,

So far only 7 people have confirmed they're coming to the December LUG
meal. I had said I'd book it this weekend but that was before l
discovered l'd need to pay £10 deposit for each person and it's non
refundable.

I'm not really up for shelling out £70-80 and dealing with deposits is
just a pain. I looked around and every other restaurant also has this
December deposit scheme. Even Bella Italia. So I have a new plan.

The Shipping Forecast does decent food: burgers, chicken, fish and
veggie options. It's diner style stuff in baskets but very nice. I can
ask them to save us a table without having to pay, or we can just turn
up and grab a spot. It's not usually that busy on a Wednesday night.

We know the place and it also solves the issue of finding a pub after
the meal. It doesn't matter so much how many people turn up, there'll
always be room. You can choose to eat or not, order when you want and
it'll all be a lot more flexible.

So I propose we just meet at Shipping Forecast 7pm on the first Weds in
December.
Well, I've finally managed to solve my scheduling conundrum - so I'm ready to join you guys Wednesday - if there is still room at the inn! :-)
