LinkSys sell a Ethernet interfaced WiFi booster.  It has Ethernet and 
TWO WiFi interfaces.  You can use it wirelessly or wired to a laptop 
with the other WiFi port connecting to a hotspot/ADSL router/access point.

I've used one on a boat moored on the marina to reach a public hotspot 
behind the seafront.  The laptop couldn't reach the hotspot without it.
