Yep, you guessed it generally speaking it's only going to work with it's own
.... that being said there are other various projects which have
circumnavigated these things.

That being said, the Linux Skype packages seem to be reliable, well in
Ubuntu Gnome anyway.

Greetings all.

My daughter Alison has emigrated to Ireland begorrah.

Today,  having got her broad-band,  she phoned us using Skype.

A quick check on Google reveals that Skype for Debian runs on KDE,  and
is said to be buggy.

Does any of the gang use Skype,  or some other equivalent beast.

Would they be inter-operable, or will Skype only talk via Skype ?

I saw a bit on one of the news feeds  ( either The Register or The
Inquirer)  that said that the "German Plod" were complaining
bitterly that they could not monitor VoIP !
