[Nottingham] Kylix - which distro?

Dear all,
As a linux newbie, I've tried to get Kylix to run under RH8 (won't do it), SUSE 9.0 (ok but SUSE doesn't like my Dell 500m) and Mandrake 9.2 (can't install due to lack of a library).  Any suggestions as to the best distro?
