Hi there,

I have now written a simple ITE8212 driver for a Linux User article[0]
(finally found an excuse to give it a little bit of time).

The driver works on 2.6.6 and currently is untested, undebugged code
which will likely destroy all your most sensitive data - this being
disclaimed I am interested in hearing from people still wanting to get
this card working properly. Sorry it took so long to get back to it.

ITE originally wrote a rather shitty driver for 2.4 which had some great
commented observations (like the kernel having a limited stack size -
cringe ouch. Better to know these things before you start playing
around...) and it also used the SCSI framework for doing its RAIDisms. I
do not have the RAID card here but am happy to continue working on my
new driver if someone wants to loan me a RAID version of the 8212F.

Mail me off list to test this or wait for the next issue.

Cheers,

Jon.

[0] I prefer coming up with original content for the magazine :-).
