I vote for a Saturday or even Sunday all day and eve. If there isn't enough enthusiasm for that though, and we do go the remote online route... would someone like to take the opportunity to give (me) a demo on VLAN (PPTP??? is that right?).

I remember (or forget mostly, actually) playing with an ACE server with these little plastic keyring tokens that generated a continually changing number ever 60 secs to go along with a password that made our remote people able to (more) securely access the network. That was a neat security feature of that particular setup, but I still don't have a clear, simple understanding of what goes into setting up remote secure virtual/cross internet 'L'ANS, and have no idea how to go about it with linux. I'm sure that there is a great HOW-TO out there, but I'm only inspired to read them when I have a chance to actually try a project/experiment.

Anyway, I hope we go for a Sat/Sun.

Martin <martin@ml1.co.uk> wrote:
