<pre wrap="">Hmm. Recently there have been several occasions on which my NTL
connection has been lost, fixed by rebooting the modem. Is this a
common occurrence or should I speak to support? <Awaits hoots of

lol :)
I reckon the NTL box can smell your fear! You might want to invest in one of
my pungent engineers' shirts - pre-odoured with the sweat (and optional blood
and tears - deluxe model only) of a "qualified" Information Systems Engineer.
The roles of fearer and fearee (NB: not a real word) will be reversed when
the equipment encounters the presence of an engineer, at which it reverts to
its factory standard operation (i.e. works-in-presence-of-engineer mode). I
have started leaving my old socks near intermittently faulty hardware - works
well so far! Also, my soon-to-be-released book, "Engineering Feng Shui",
details the use of balancing "engineer Yin and Yang" to coax your I.T.
infrastructure into harmony.
