XP licensing can be either OEM or Retail. <div>OEM is tied to a piece of hardware, either by the manufacturer or by the purchaser.</div><div>Retail is mine, and can be used on any one machine of my choosing.</div><div><br>

</div>It's been a long time since I've used Windows. Are licences not tied<br>
to the hardware any more? I remember in the distant past not being<br>
able to install Windows on any machine other than the one it shipped<br>
with.<br>
