Could be; I'll see if I can install via CD drive. <br><br>If so is it likely that USB MSS will not work even with an installed Linux, or should this correct itself once an installation actually takes place? <br><br><br clear="all">

In summary (aiui) the kernel doesn't really have a notion of driver<br>
dependencies so it could be a simple mismatch there. Perhaps DSL has<br>
the required driver built in and Ubuntu is using a module?<br>
