<p dir="ltr">/etc/xdg/autostart is used by all users of the system, whereas the equivalent under home is only for the owner of that home directory.</p>
<p dir="ltr">I'm not familiar with KDE but imagine that the other location is KDE specific. That is you've got one location for autostart programs for your user that will be started by all DE's, one for all users started by all DE's and one for your user started only by KDE. There's probably a 4th system-wide location for all KDE users?</p>
