<div>My new keyboard, a 'PowerCool 104-Key 3-colour Multimedia Keyboard' won't work; it has a USB connector and I have tried to connect it to a PS/2 socket on my PC by way of an adaptor. Oddly enough, my old keyboard, a USB-plugged Cherry, works perfectly well with the same adaptor.</div>

<div>I thought it might be something to do with the keyboard being different to that I used to set up my sysytem (Linux Mint Rebecca Cinnamon 64-bit) but a live distro I had on DVD and knew to be working also failed to recognise the new keyboard.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Has anyone any thoughts on what I might try next?</div>
