[Phpwm] Where did all the PHP developers go?

In a Computer Science Msc at Coventry university, C# and java were kings, although lecturers praised php in many cases - they choose these languages over php for application development(not just web development) and they cover OOP very clearly in most cases.
I think because php is a server-side scripting language, and not a 'strict-type' language then it is not used in the main.
My dissertation was written in php and AS3.0, and they were quite happy with that - so point being - it doesn't matter.

As an undergrad at Staffs uni - yeah, we get taught it, along with MySQL (I'm sitting in a MySQL tutorial right now!). We also get taught Java and .NET. However, the degrees here are very vocational in nature and I wonder if more theory-based comp sci degrees would offer PHP at all?
