prevents me from connecting directly, so I asked the Network Manager to open up

just make changes to allow things I will need to complete a request from for
allowing servers or clients unfiltered port access to the internet.

the request via the proxy, but I have never accessed mysql across a proxy before

that I can connect to the DB? If so what is the syntax for doing
