Linux Support Engineer - Birmingham - ??24K - ??28K 

Huxley Associate's client is an established IT opensource outsourcing company. 

This will be a varied technical support role focusing on 2nd/3rd line support. 
If successful you will be part of the overall IT support team however you will be working mostly on your own. 

In essence the role is for a Linux engineer with a good understanding of infrastructure support. Ideally you will either be degree educated and/or hold at least a few relevant accreditations. If you have a BSc or MSc in Computer Science this would also be highly desirable. 

If successful you will be working in our clients office in Birmingham, you will be expected to have a strong technical understanding and be able to resolve the majority of calls first time and this may involve spending up to an one hour on the phone or working face to face with non - technical staff 

Key Technical Skills: 
- Linux Support Experience 
- Hardware Troubleshooting Experience 
- Network Troubleshooting Experience 

Desired Skills: 
- Windows knowledge or experience 
- Opensource product knowledge or experience

Hello everyone,

To repeat, the Christmas social is on Thursday 16th December at Kings Indian,

I never worked out what is the best time for an evening social, it is
always a balance between people who like earlier (getting hungry,
being able to get home on public transport) and those who like later
(finish work later and need turn around time).

I have the table booked from 7pm. Is this going to cause massive
problems for anyone? Obviously you can only arrive when you can
arrive. It probably won't make that much difference anyway since we
will be there for some time. Optional extra pint in the pub
afterwards.

This restaurant is bring your own but there is an off-licence in the
same road (and a Lidl in a nearby street).

The address is:

13-15 York Rd
Kings Heath, Birmingham, West Midlands B14 7SA

Nearby bus routes include 50 and 35 from town. 76 or 11 from Selly Oak.

There is a council-run car park next to Lidl in Silver Street, and
nearby residential roads have free on-street
parking.
