First and foremost this software has been compiled & liscensed for the
Raspberry Pi Foundationand their Raspbian Wheezy distribution, nothing to
do with any other Linux Distribution (Paul Ubuntu x86).

To be able to run this software it is best to have either a 512MB Model B
or a Model A board, on the 256MB Model B it is a little slow !

It is advisable to start with a fresh image: Raspbian Wheezy
"2013-09-25-wheezy-raspbian.zip" blah blah blah

On initial boot onfigure "raspi-config" initially to boot to command line
with a medium overclock, then reboot and:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
sudo reboot

sudo rpi-update
sudo reboot

This is what have at present:

/opt/vc/bin/vcgencmd version
Nov 15 2013 14:17:01
Copyright (c) 2012 Broadcom
version 162026b1448f491e97e3b3b57cdca29be6a1d61a (tainted) (release)

uname -a
Linux raspberrypi 3.10.19+ #600 PREEMPT Sat Nov 16 20:34:43 GMT 2013 armv6l
GNU/Linux

nano /etc/apt/sources.list
deb http://mirrordirector.raspbian.org/raspbian/ wheezy main contrib
non-free rpi

Then follow procedure to install wolfram from the previous email and reboot

At the command line launch raspi-config to configure to boot into LXDE
and reboot again

Now in the LXDE DE go into LX Terminal and launch mathematica as stated
in earlier email

Also some of above is mentioned on the U3A Google Site which only Frank
appears to read !!
