Quickest solution in the absence of a pen drive would be to remove the IDE and power cables from your CD-ROM drive on the XP machine and plug them in to the 98SE hard drive - there is then no need to fiddle about with jumpers etc. Then just boot up as normal and the XP machine will see it as an extra drive.
