They are alive. Just. They filed for protection from their creditors
while they do some 'restructuring'. Sometimes a lack of money can lead
to companies making bad short term decisions just to stay above the
water.

This 'per seat' licensing policy seems to be gaining in popularity at
the moment. And some Linux companies are not offering download editions
of their software so people have to buy the boxed versions. They are
within their rights to do this. I just don't like it :)

I will be interested to see wether Mandrake is ready to risk its
popularity for financial stability. But then again i am a bit of a
pessimist.
