I think so, yes.  I've never gone down the Delphi/Kylix route myself, though
did consider it at one stage, and I do remember decent database support was
something it had.  I would have thought you could connect to a database of
some sort using it.

Putting on my Perl hat (it's the language I do most of my work in these
days), there's always the possibility of hacking something together in Perl
using it's DBI modules for database connectivity and Gtk for making the GUI.
Though piecing together a big GUI using Perl with Gtk, so I've heard, would
probably seem a very long task when I've only ever created true GUIs using
Visual Basic.  I'm not certain it's a particularly practical idea.  Though
there is good news for VB.NET programmers - the Mono project will mean we
can soon (I hope) port VB.NET apps relatively easily to run on Linux, maybe
Macs too.  :-)
